These Samsung Galaxy smartphones will not get One UI 6.0 (Android 14)

While some devices receive four years of firmware upgrades, Samsung increased the time it would deliver firmware updates from two to three years.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 series won’t be updated to One UI 6.0.
  • Several other Samsung Galaxy smartphones will not join the update.
  • These smartphones will still get security updates in the near future.

The South Korean tech giant Samsung employs its own custom operating system, One UI, on top of the Android OS to power its smartphones. One UI 6.0, which is based on Android 14, is the most recent and most discussed version among Samsung Galaxy customers.

Samsung increased the amount of time it would take to release firmware updates from two to three years, and went one step further by pledging to release four significant OS upgrades for a chosen group of devices within that time. Let's have a look at the complete list of Samsung smartphones that, as promised, will not receive the upcoming major update and instead run on Android 13 with One UI 5.0.

Samsung hasn’t said when the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update will arrive, but if the release timeline for Android 13 is any indicator, the next big OS upgrade should hit some Galaxy devices before the end of 2023.
